These copper-coated metal bells originated over 1,000 years ago in what is modern-day Pakistan and were created for the nomadic pastoral tribes of the region as a means of keeping track of their livestock.

These nomadic communities eventually settled over the border in the Kutch region of India, where the bells have been made ever since. Each family has their own closely guarded ancient smelting technique that gives the bell its distinct, rustic bronze-and-copper appearance and unique sound, and every bell is finely tuned by ear.

The bells feature a heavy, hand-hewed clapper made from local hardwoods that, when struck, absorb the initial sharp clanging impact, producing a deep, soft hum with a long echo

Perfect for gardens, entryways, or an indoor accent wall. Please note, the mixed metals will develop a rust patina in moist areas.

5 1/2 inches overall length. Bell body is 4 1/2 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide, 1 inch top ring. 5 1/4 inch long wooden clapper.
