Wellness: Binchotan charcoal water purification
Binchotan Charcoal is activated by burning branches of oak at very high temperatures in a special kiln. The process carbonizes the wood, leaving porous cavities that bind toxins, trapping impurities in tap water.
Each package contains 1/4 pound of charcoal sticks, usually three sections of a branch. One stick of charcoal is shown here in a clear glass carafe (not included). This is how you purify your water; the charcoal absorbs impurities within the liquid each time you refill the pitcher or carafe.
